With android phones the possibilities to customize are pretty much endless. I love creating my own widgets and shortcuts to make my phone my very own.

There are thousands of awesome HD backgrounds you can get from an app called "backgrounds HD". I used this background for a while before it started getting really cold and snowy.

Now that it is cold out and Christmas is upon us, I decided to create a Christmas themed background. I also created a clock and date widget using Christmas fonts.

I used the same widgets on this one. I also changed my icons to white using an app called"icon changer".

Screen Shots

Time is always short, but when I find I do have a few minutes, I love to play around and see what kind of widgets I can create. Here are a few screen shots of some I have made lately, as well as some from previous pictures.

This one was one of my earlier ones.

These are widgets that I didn't make, but I wanted to show some cool things you can do to make your phone more productive. The slidebar widget is the one bellow the weather. From those simple buttons you can change your phone volume, alarm volume, ringer volume, brightness etc. It's pretty neat.

Some of these are a little crazy, but I just like playing around with them and seeing what I can create.

Shortly after my husband and I got married, he said to me "Sweetheart, we are going to be an apple family, I hope that is alright with you". I am a very easy going person and didn't mind apple at all, so I said "Of course it's ok with me". Shortly after, we both got the iPhone 5. After about 10 days, he said "I think I want to switch and get a Galaxy s4". I honestly was shocked. He LOVES technology, and we talk about it often, but it seemed this desire to switch to android came out of nowhere. Needless to say he made the switch.

This all happened about 3 months ago, and finally I have switched as well and got the HTC one. We sold our iPad and got a Nexus 7. The only apple we own now are our laptops which we still think are unbeatable as far as computers, but when it comes to phones and tablets, we probably won't be switching back anytime soon.

When I got the one I first played around with the original launcher that came with the phone. Once I was used to it, I got nova launcher. My husband then showed me an app called UCCW. It is an app where you can design your own skins. It is really cool and here are some of the things I have experimented with.

This one is the first one I made. I didn't know how to add new fonts or anything yet, but I was pretty proud of how it turned out for my first one. I don't know why, but the image made it look like it has a shear pink behind it, it doesn't really, it's actually shear white on my phone. With this skin, I made two hotspots. Hotspots are awesome. You can basically have it cover the space you want and when you click on it on your phone, it takes you to anywhere you assign it. I had the time covered with a hotspot to take me to my clock app, and the 68 is the temperature which I had it take me to my yahoo weather app. The circle with 59 in it is my battery percentage, and as you can see, you can add your own custom text.
This one isn't the most exciting one, but I was just playing around a little more. The pie circle indicated my battery percentage.
Again, another one just playing around.

This one is really cool. I started learning how to add fonts and apply them. This was on my phone and I made hotspots on each of the words. You also can't see very well in the picture, but each word has a shear white behind it.

Cool clock. This one is a little busy for me, but I think it looks really cool still.

These two are my most recent ones. I made hot spots on each area. The one that says Cody is really cool. All I do is click on it, and it calls him immediately.

I will try to post screen shots next time to show what they actually look like with my background and everything. Anyway, this is what I have been up to as of late to personalize my phone in a fun way!
